Frequently Asked Questions

What types of clients do you typically see?

We mainly work with couples, families, teens, and children. We also see individual adults.

What are typical areas that you address?

We work a lot with couples that want to address conflict resolution, communication, emotional intimacy, sexual intimacy, parenting, divorce/separation, and stressful events. We also work quite a bit with families addressing teen challenges, parenting, communication, and family bonding. More specific areas of treatment include those dealing with infidelity, sexual difficulties, infertility, depression, anxiety, pre-marital counseling, addictions, grief/loss, trauma, and extended family issues.

What types of models or forms of treatment do you use?

We all use a relational or systems theory approach which means we focus on helping relationships. In addition, many of us use specific models like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and other evidence-based approaches.

How much do therapy sessions cost?

As the cost of a therapy session varies depending on the therapist you see, we ask that you contact our office for the individual rates. We offer payment options for those experiencing financial difficulties

Do individual, couple, and family sessions cost the same?

Yes.

Do you accept insurance or government assistance?

We accept some insurances or other 3rd-Party Payors. We gladly work with the following insurances: SelectHealth, Educators Mutual Insurance (EMI), Public Employee Health Plan (PEHP), Deseret Mutual Benefit Administrators (DMBA), Molina. All benefits must be confirmed before starting treatment. Please call your insurance to find out accepted coverage rates. With the proper insurance information, we can explore in-network or out-of-network benefits that may be applicable for you. Your insurance company would decide how much would be reimbursable, co-insurance/co-payments and deductible amounts. We also accept payment from Bishops/Church Clergy/Other Family Members.

How long do sessions last?

We typically see clients once a week for 50 minutes; some will see us every other week or even monthly. The average client will see us for 12 to 16 weeks; however, some see us for more or less time.

What type of therapist will I see?

We take pride in hiring therapists that are well-trained in relational approaches. The majority of our therapists are Licensed Marriage & Family Therapists or Associates who have graduated from accredited family therapy programs. This is important because there are many non-accredited programs out there. Graduates from an accredited program by the American Association of Marriage & Family Therapy will have the highest level of training.
